Malwarebytes isn't an antivirus, it's antimalware. I love Malwarebytes and I buy it by the year, but it doesn't do all the same things that an antivirus does.

Moved from The Lounge forum accordingly to here.

As said, MBAM Is not an AV but can run alongside any antivirus without compatibility Issues. The likes of Norton, Kaspersky, Avast, Avira and ESET are a good choice.

It was quite resource-hungry around a decade ago, but has significantly Improved over the years to where It stands today.

Use a dedicated test system to download files that're not from reputable/well-known sites.

Once It's deemed safe, transfer the file to your main PC.

I had been using Kaspersky for a long time.
Though recently I have switched to Avast and Malware Bytes for added protection against malware.
Overall I more than happy with my current setup as it is actually quite fast on my outdated PC.

Eset in my opinion is one of the top ranking Anti Viruses coupled with Malwarebytes but even then its still possible to become infected if your stupid enough.
