I did demand for. a re-escalation on those grounds
the responses I’ve gotten consistently are:
1. “ A refund or replacement for this item is only available if the item is returned”
2. “The agent was mistaken, but we have provided you with the correct solution, that is all we can do from here” (Return)
When they do not have a response to something I’ve said, they ignore it and restate what they’ve said
Repeatedly email the same message to every department you can think of. If need be, do It for an entire month.
You're bound to receive an appropriate response.
