Hi, I decided to make DNA with h&m, but because I was not able to pick up the parcel, I called the courier to leave it with a neighbor and so he did, then I wrote in the chat that I did not receive the parcel when I wrote again today I got information that the parcel was delivered and he told me that it was delivered to the neighbor as I asked to which I replied that it was not true and I did not receive the package

did I do the right thing, or is it better to pay back?

The DNA has a high chance of failing since you instructed the courier on what to do which releases them from liability. Next time do not leave or give any instructions to the courier. One more thing be careful when when you try and claim that you never told the courier to leave package with neighbor as sometimes those calls are recorded for quality control purposes.
