Airpods

#1
I have a valid airpod serial number with a warranty active and everything is perfect. Is there a way through apple support to get a free pair?

Nevermind my stupidity, apple confirms which address and telephone number was used to deliver. Not sure how I would've gotten out of that one.

Purchase the AirPods through Amazon, and use the EB/missing Item method.

It has a very high success rate with Amazon.

Thank you, I've read a lot of your posts. I just wanted to test the SE capability of apple's website as I haven't seen anything about it so far. I'll have to wait a while since both amazon accounts I use for SE'ing have already been used the past month.

Do note that unbeknownst to many buyers/SE'ers, Apple offer what's called a "one-time exception" per account, whereby they'll refund/replace the Item without (for example) the need to return It, or Investigate the claim further.

I'm not sure if I was picking the right method then. I told them that the battery to the airpods was dying quickly. I couldn't think of a better excuse to use.
For future reference, simply say the Item Is not working and leave It at that.

Generally speaking, they'll go through a few routine troubleshooting steps to try and Identify the defect, of which you'll obviously remain adamant that It's still not functioning. A return will be requested and In the case of the AirPods, box them. They're extremely light (depending on the model, 48 grams max - charging case & each AirPod Included), so there's no need to substitute the weight.

The one I used caused the associate to ask for the address for the account responsible for the purchase of the airpods (I'm assuming they could see whether the serial number was purchased online.)
I'd say It was for verification purposes, namely the warranty claim.

So I'd say that if they ask for the address again to just abort?

It may not need to be aborted.

Given It's difficult to conclusively conclude exactly why the address Is requested, keep going with the SE. If they move forward with the claim thereafter, then the termination on your end would've been a waste of an SE.
